XAVIERA HOLLANDER to ATTEND the PHILADELPHIA INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL for the SCREENING of the DOCUMENTARY FILM ABOUT HER LIFE

June 21st, 2008, Philadelphia, PA: The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival taking place on June 26th - 29th, 2008, announces the attendance of Xaviera Hollander to promote the documentary film about her life “Xaviera Hollander, The Happy Hooker: Portrait of a Sexual Revolutionary” directed by Robert Dunlap, screening Friday, June 27th 9:25pm at the Media Bureau, 725 N. 4th Street http://PhiladelphiaIndependentFilmfestival.com

The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival will be screening 151 films in 7 venues over 4 days through out the historically radical artist community, Northern Liberties. All events are within walking distance of one another with the film screenings taking place at The Media Bureau, North Bowl, Liberty Lands Park, Arbol Café, Liberties Walk, 941 Theatre & Woodshop Film Studios. With the US Metropolitan city of Philadelphia as its backdrop, the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival is a yearly meeting of the artist and business community that encompass the innovation, creativity, diversity, and uniqueness of film making.

Xaviera Hollander will be in attendance at The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival from Thursday June 26th until Sunday, June 29th. , appearing at the Media Bureau on Thursday, June 26th at 9:30pm for the Film Festival’s opening event and on Friday, June 27th at 9:25pm for the documentary screening. After the film, Xaviera will be answering questions from the audience as well as sign and dedicate her latest book, written with co-author Katje van Dijk, “The Happy Hooker's guide to SEX - 69 orgasmic ways to pleasure a woman” published by Sky Horse Publishing. Xaviera will be making two more book signing appearances at the Passional Boutique on Thursday, June 26th at 7pm, and Delicious Boutique on Friday, June 27th at 7pm. Xaviera did not invent sex: she was one of the leading spirits who brought it out of the closet. Her first book, The Happy Hooker, published in 1971, has sold more than 16 million copies and is still intriguing new readers by its humor, its zest for life and above all for its downright honesty. Xaviera now lives in Amsterdam with her husband Philip, where she runs a bohemian style Bed and Breakfast and entertains her many international guests with her humorous sexy stories from the past. She is always reinventing herself and for the last 10 years has been producing English Theatre productions in her house and recently in Marbella, Spain where she also resides part of the year.
