Happy Holidays to all Philadelphia Independent Film Festival fans and film makers and many good returns in 2013. We are excited to announce that we have launched our updated website for festival #6 prior to 2013! This is a first for us (we have traditionally put the updated site online in February) and we are proud to let you know. We will have a total overhaul as the months go by. Stick with us and tell your friends to subscribe for updates.
Do not forget that this year we have a new Box Office and that is located at 2002 Ludlow Street Philadelphia, Pa 19103. This is the home of Elkman Advertising. Elkman has 3 generations of marketing and PR experience under their belt and we are very excited to work and join forces with them.

Sitting down at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival 2010 with David Whitney, Director, Kandahar Break. The movie was a North American Premier and will be released in August. We discussed, briefly, being a first time Director, shooting in Pakistan, and how to motivate the crew in such harsh conditions amongst other subjects.

Rain or shine ... Outdoor screenings go on and the skys clear up.

The time is 7:15 and we had monitored the weather all day ABC and NBC and the word was that we would need to move the outdoor venues (3 total) to City fitness.

We stood firm.

The show went on and by screening time of 9:00pm the sky's were clear and the sweet Delaware River breeze was blowing in. Glory at Sea (Ben Zeitlin), Streets Keep Calling Me (Lionel Cook), Fun for Hire (Nicholas Stone), Larry the Actor (Eric Poydar), LORA (Gabor Herendi), Digital Pamphlateer (Bill Simmon), Cutting th eRug, Turning the Wheel: Beats and Buddism in Northern India (Harrison Blum), were all crowd favorites.

Glory at Sea had some audience members (Liberty Land) in tears.

LORA was especially well received as the Film Maker was in from Sofia, Bulgaria.

Streets Keep Calling Me is an early favorite for local movies ...
